EuroHockey League (Men)
and Club Champions Cup (Women)
The England Hockey League is the top tier of English club hockey and in these pages you will find information about how the league is structured and details of every club in the league (together with a link to a Google Maps image of their ground). There is also our unique progress table, which gives the position of every club week-by-week. We have the Fixtures Live league tables imbedded into the site in the ‘League tables’ page, plus the current fixture list for the league.
We are great fans of European club hockey and so we have given over a page to the men’s EuroHockey League. In this page you will find some details about the structure of the league and the rule variations which are in force.
Whilst not quite a EuroHockey League, the women’s Club Champions Cup was greatly revised after the 2008-2009 season and we have dubbed the new competition ‘EuroHockey League Lite’ due to the similarities. We have included details of this competition in the EuroHockey League pages.
The Olympic Hockey pages were added to the site in 2008 in the run-up to the Games in Beijing. Although we cut them back to one page after Beijing, we intend to use the pages to supply information as the 2012 Games approach.
Currently the page contains the name of every GB hockey medal winner, the results of past Olympic hockey tournaments, and some interesting facts and figures about Olympic hockey.
As 2012 gets closer, look out for more information and new pages to do with the London Olympics.
These pages are designed primarily to assist anyone new to our game who wants to learn more about it, with particular reference to the armchair fan who is being introduced to hockey for the first time via their TV set. We do our best to explain some of the rules that are unique to hockey and tell you something about some of the top England players and players from abroad. There is also a potted history of hockey.
We have a very comprehensive links pages which will take you to a variety of hockey related sites.
NB: If you are looking for a link to an England Hockey League club you will find all of them in the England Hockey League pages under ‘The Clubs’. There is a navigation link on this page.
Our World Cup 2010 page has been added as an extra to the site for the Men’s and Women’s World Cups in 2010. The page currently has information about the Men’s World Cup in New Delhi.
